His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the Friendly French Republic, discussed ways to support bilateral relations and enhance the existing strategic partnership between the two friendly countries at various levels.
His Highness and President Macron exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern, and reviewed developments in the Arab Gulf, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, and the latest developments in the region, especially the Libyan crisis.
This came during the telephone call that His Highness received from the French President, who also addressed the emerging epidemic of Corona virus, its developments in the two countries and the world, efforts to confront it and contain its effects in various fields.
During the call, the two sides stressed the importance of working to settle crises in the region through dialogue and peaceful means, and affirmed their support for the recent Egyptian initiative "Cairo Declaration" to end the military conflict in Libya, and the need for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire and return to the political track and activating the outputs of the Berlin Conference And the relevant United Nations resolutions related to the crisis, in a way that preserves the unity of the country, preserves its resources and enhances the right of its people to development, stability and peace.
The two sides welcomed the resumption of dialogue between the parties to the conflict in Libya within the framework of the Joint Military Commission.
